Hello lads and lasses

T’is I, and what a rollicking adventure we have in store for you the next couple of weeks. Observe:

Our mysterious lost shipment of buttons is no longer such. It is now our ordinary shipment of mis-addressed buttons that will soon be sent to us within two weeks time (hopefully quite sooner than that). Seems they mis-copied my apartment number. But if travail, then overcome!

Now for another update. My apartment. Some comics have been made about bedbugs. Yes. They are real. They bite you when sleeping tight. They are in my apartment.

Thus we’ve established campgrounds in our living room whilst our bedrooms have been under quarantine. It’s difficult, yes. But then again, we are mighty when determined and determined we are.

Ok so how’s this an adventure for you? Well, the buttons of course!

-Arrivederci!

Sketches

I give you sketches for today's Toad.

The Toad shall return next week, so do not grow faint or weary in his absence.

Boot is Finished

The boot is finished. I am ecstatic. I will supply photos later. Huzzah.

Kathy made a return in the comic yesterday, which hasn't happened for a while. More to come, more to come.

100 Posts

Apparently this is the 100th post we've made so far. I apologize for the (visually) sketchy BHC comic. The desire for getting more than 7 hours of sleep trumped having an immaculate comic for this gloomy Monday.

I'm getting sick and I have to get my boot finished this week to make the deadline for the Houston Rodeo.

This pressure is on, yo.

Not only that, we're having to be more realistic. We can't be staying up till 1 and 2am every night to get nine comics a week done. We've scaled back quite a bit for this reason. We're all starting a new semester, so we haven't gotten back into the swing of things quite yet. Mostly because of the current situation over at Shawn's apartment.

Also because Kathy and I haven't beaten The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess yet.

More on these things later. Enjoy the boot picture. It's the only one I'm supplying until it's fully finished.

A sketch

Well folks my computer is back up and running, with some significant improvements. After a frustrating month of waiting, only to receive a still broken computer, I went and fixed it myself. Two days later I discovered what was causing my computer to restart without ceasing. What resembled a minuscule gunpowder blast had appeared on my motherboard's fragile silicon construction. My (approx.) seven year-old ECS K7S5A motherboard had fried.

It wasn't bad RAM or a bad hard drive. They both checked out okay.

So with my computer rebuilt, sporting a P4 3.0ghz with hyperthreading (which, to my understanding, is already outdated technology) I am feeling better about things. Shawn gets back in town tomorrow, my computer is set up, and I can guarantee things are going to start rolling again.

In the meantime, today's Toad is the first thing I've sketched on my new monitor using my computer, and not Shawn or Kathy's laptop.

Kathy just purchased a neat Fuji 6MP digital camera, and was able to supply us with a photo of Shawn and I at work on my "new" computer. Enjoy.

Yes I'm holding a giant magnifying glass.

Skittles, kids. Take Your change.

Today there is a new comic. I still don't have my computer back yet, and I must admit we've been taking a bit of a break over the Christmas vacation. Hopefully I get my computer back soon, I'm not thrilled with the whole situation. Once I get it back things should start rolling smoother, but for now I've been having to work on Shawn's laptop when I can. I do have my new monitor, which I absolutely love. The Dell 2007 WFP. I bought a refurbished one for a mere $300, and it's well worth it. It came with no dead pixels and I couldn't be happier with the clarity, brightness, and overall aesthetic appeal of the beatiful LCD.

Anyone wondering what new LCD to get, this one cannot be beat for the price. Other than that, I would recommend getting the Gateway 19" widescreen. It's slightly smaller than the 20.1" widescreen that I bought from Dell, but you can probably grab one for half as much is you can get it on sale. I researched all of the different LCD's for a month or so, went out to all of the stores and kiosks and looked at them, and in the $170-220 price range (for a 19" widescreen) the Gateway monitor looked the best. Go out and look for yourself, since everyone's got their preferences. I tell you what though, if you have the money, get a widescreen LCD from Dell, you won't be dissappointed.

Oh yeah! Game updates! I played through Gears of War on Insane with Patrick Wicker, and I loved it. It's rather short though. After no more than 10 hours the game can be beaten, but it is rather intense and is a great co-op experience.

I also got to play Superman Returns on the Xbox 360 yesterday, and if you liked the Spiderman 2 game at all, you will absolutely love this. Picking up a poor sap's van, flying 50 stories up into the air with it, and then throwing it half a mile is more fun than words can describe. At least rent this game.

Happy New Year everyone!
