The crew is done at last

I finished this drawing, which of course, being an artist, I'm already half-way disgusted with it. Comments and critique are welcome. I'm putting this into my portfolio as a two page spread, which I must put together and take to print tomorrow. Phew.

Trex Wins Every Time

Here's the latest and greatest I was able to churn out after burning through some physics homework. Here's the general idea behind this.

The viewer, or the camera, begins to slowly become one with the running character's point of view. Once the camera has taken on the eyes of the character, we can see that he's running through a dark tunnel, rather erratically, but we're not sure why yet. All we know is that he's trying to get to the light at the end of the tunnel.
He finally makes it to the end, and the camera is blurred out due to the intense juxtaposition of bright daylight and the dark tunnel. The point of view is now obviously from another perspective, perhaps one more true of the actual viewer's eyes, and it's looking for something. It starts out on a long shot and zooms and to scan the building, anticipating the appearance of our running character. He appears almost completely off the screen, just enough to catch the eye of the camera. Unfortunately for him though, we now find out what he was running from, as a T-rex easily gulps him up.

Characters update!

I'm starting to commit to a certain look for this finally, as far as coloring goes. A lot of details have been added now, though a few characters need to be realized a little further pretty soon.

I tried a few different "effects props" for the robot, one being laser eyes. I think I like the glowy energy ball best so far. This drawing will need to be wrapped up this weekend if I want it done in time.

Critique, anyone?

Pump and Push

Here's our latest studio assignment completed. It's a combination of two rather different motions in order to better understand the nuance in human motion when transitioning between different positions.

Trapped by time again.

I got to work on this character roundup for my portfolio some more tonight, and I've become torn between various coloring styles. Do I leave out the lineart and just use bold colors to define the characters, or do I just leave the negative space for some neat looking silhouettes? The whole ordeal is tricky. What to do, what to do... if anyone is out there I could sure use some advice.

Edit - image update.

Why is it always now?

I've often found myself to be the type of person who isn't particularly fond of his/her specific schedule. I had really gotten into a good groove working on this drawing, and I feel like I could easily put another two hours into it, but it's already almost two hours after I should have gone to bed. Here's what I was working on, it's a 2 page spread I hope to finish soon and slam in my portfolio. I'm not sure how to flesh out this drawing though. I think it might be neat to leave some of it in the sketch phase, re "ink" some of it, and then do a finish color for some of them. Commens and critique are most welcome.

P.S. I think you may have to click on the image to actually see anything, because it's a very large image and the linework is rather light.

Walk Cycle!

Here is my much labored walk cycle. I was somewhat tempted to have him jamming out to an iPod, since he is already lightly head banging. Enjoy. Also fought the temptation to have him consumed by a land shark at the end of the walk.
