I'll make this short, because I already need to be going to bed for work tomorrow, and I could go on for hours about this topic. I'm going to assume that most of you have no idea how much Bioshock means to some of us PC gamers, because 95% of you were not even aware that a game known as System Shock 2 came out the same year that Half-Life 1 did until very recently. The fact that I won't be able to play Bioshock on my computer very well (or at all) is disheartening. I cannot wield the Xbox360 controllers with the proper technique that is required to play an FPS genre game. I just can't. I've always been terrible at Halo, and I've never had the time or the interest for that matter to be able to play an FPS game on a console, until now. I have to play Bioshock, and after I download the demo I'll decide if it will be done on my PC or a 360. To play it on my PC would mean sacrificing the game's graphics completely in order to have my fluid controls. Graphics are great, don't get me wrong. I played the demo on the Xbox360 (with great difficulty), and it looked gorgeous. I'm really quite torn. I may just figure out how to do it on a 360, but I would somehow feel that I cheated the game, and withdrew to a lower medium in order to play.
For those of you that are interested, the minimum requirements for Bioshock can be found here.
Good luck, and congratulations to those of you sporting two 8800GTX video cards and 2GB of DDR-II RAM.
Enjoy the comic!
