In addition to the regular Adventuresome Toad comic (now updated on Wednesdays) I'm adding an unofficial Sunday Sketch that you'll find in the Toad strip every Sunday. This way, when that lazy Sunday afternoon mode kicks in, and you end up browsing the internet, there will be something cool that I have drawn to look at (coolness not 100% guaranteed).
Today's sketch is something of a preview for the film noir comic that Shawn and I hope to launch sometime in or around next summer on this website. I'm working on tapping into my darker roots, to create dark art. Heavy shadows and high contrast, you guys. Watch. Out.
The noir comic will be an outlet in which I can refine a different art style (i.e. more realism), and Shawn can become a larger factor in the creative process. In fact, I'd bet my neighbor's dog that the noir comic will be 100% written by him, so I'll just stick to illustrations and not have to worry about where the plot is going.
Honestly, I'd bet all three of those dogs that we're going to have air outside tomorrow.
Y'all had better bulk up on your vocabulary, too. I'm fairly certain Shawn is going to eat a thesaurus before he really gets cooking on the script. Again, watch out.
